I Timothy 6:6-10 "But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."
In regard to a post made by another friend, and of my own personal experience while attending another church. There its sometimes preached, that by faith in God, one can expect to reap financial wealth. As in the verse above, it is obviously not true. There then comes the danger, of believing God simply because we expect a reward from it. Yes, there is a reward, but its certainly nothing monetary, and certainly far greater. That is what we know we have, and what we should look forward to.
We all work to earn a living. We want to buy cars, material possesions, food and the like. Wanting to earn more in a sense isnt really wrong especially since many of us do so to pay just for necessities like school fees. But when start to equate money as a means to living the good life. thats when we start to serve the other master. And no one can serve two.
On another note..several things have happened over the past days, im just feeling lazy to blog about them all. Photos lying in the memory card waiting to be uploaded, things stuck in my head i want to put down. The irony of it..right now I have all the time in the world.
