Well exams are over for now, and though i have a residual sense of dread when i recall the countless blanks and lost marks, I shall try not to bother and focus on this blog post.Imagestation is closing down so most of my past pictures might disappear soon : ( But nvm if i have time il transfer them somewhere else.
Its become sort of a ritual to talk about food most times i post, and this one will make up for the long long period of absence. Some one off random pics first..
Studying at vivo. Glad thats over..but ah therell be more to come. As recommeneded by tracy.Pacific coffee is a great place to study on weekdays.I condemn the outlet at the airport though. Here they have cusioned swings and a breezy balcony with a good view of sentosa.
Some extra reading on the bus. I love bus rides. I gave up mrt concessions for a bus one. Grey sky plus ipod plus window seat. Bliss..Minus the programming notes.
Onto the food..
First up, aunty's treat at plaza parkroyal. Buffet with japanese and local mix. Main attraction was the free flow sashimi, tuna, cold soba ,swordfish and oysters. I love raw cold stuff..
Soft shell crab too. And various kinda of roti prata. Now who eats that at a buffet when youve so much other nice stuff..But i couldnt resist.
Wonderful spreads of jelly and assorted cakes.
The usual salad and stuff..
As is always a must have at such buffets, a glorious spread of desserts. One must always learn to keep 1/4 of stomach space for them.Who can resist chocolate fountains? not me for one...
Then came another buffet. Of several that month...I thank my metabolic rate once again.
This one was brunch at Paulaner Brahaus with the climbing team. I love german food for the sausages, mash potatoes and sauerkraut, however you spell that.
Assorted sausage. Strangely they had salmon sashimi as well. Surprisingly i got full very fast at this buffet. Probably due to the amount of whipped potato i took..
Food was pretty good with the exception of the dry pork knuckle and the unrefilled tiramisu dessert. There was free flow beer for the price but well since i had to study after this ( which i didnt) so that was that..mustve been good beer though.
And now the place ive always talked about going and finally did. Lim Seng Lee famous teo chew boneless duck. Its buried somewhere on south buona vista road, pretty near school. 10 or 200 will bring you there. Apparently its been here for ages. Shared a cab with xx and denis cos we got lost finding the place.
What can i say? The duck was really nice, and so were the 2 other dishes we had. All in all with drinks and extra rice the price was a little steep at $29, but there a satisfying amount of duck that comes drenched in a sweet gooey oh so good sauce.
Sambal kang kong, and tofu..Il be back here again soon for sure. One thing though the soup was kinda disappointing by in comparison to the other stuff we had.
Lastly, something more common. Fish N Co. Was xin xians bday so we celebrated here. My all time favourite swordfish collar never fails to dissapoint. Mango sauce, mayonnaise with garlic.joy. The soup of the day this time round was excellent too.
Side note, dont eat this too often its drenched in lots of oil. And fish and co vegetables are quite terrible. Like theyve been boiled too long.
Ah to end, something pretty amazing, and the closest one gets here to a tornado. A waterspout, this one was huge, and theyre getting more common these days.Ok my hands are aching already. Update again soon. Pardon the weird layout..
